CCO Group are thrilled to be partnered with Herts-based HLL. This hire is key for their growth, and keen to speak to candidates as soon as possible.
See our job description below and please apply for via this vacancy:
CCO Group are thrilled to be exclusively partnered with HLL to bring in their new key hire of a Land and Development Manager to lead on projects from inception to completion, in conjunction with the MD and existing Land and Development Manager. With an incoming Sales professional to assist with latter Sales/Marketing stages, this role will to work across residential-led sites typically, from appraising potential sites, to taking them through due diligence, planning and design phases, through to working with construction partners on the delivery of these sites.
HLL has an enviable position in the market of having secure funding, and direct access to sites. It has ambition and yet a social conscience and purpose. All sites are surplus to the requirements of its shareholder, Hertfordshire County Council, rather than external private or agent sources. As well as dealing with sites for HLL to develop, HLL also is 50% owner of Chalkdene Developments – a JV with Lovell/Morgan Sindall – albeit this is a smaller part of the role.
Based in a charming property in Central Hertford, with a culture of honesty and dynamism, and an efficient yet challenging work-environment – the team want another self-starter to join, with a keen eye for detail. More concerned with attitude and aptitude than “who you know”, this role would suit someone with strong planning, development management and or cradle-to-grave project management skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone either from a consultancy background, and or someone who is in a client-side environment but with good technical ability.
While we have an in-depth job description to share with interested and qualified individuals, the brief outline of the role will be to:
- Manage numerous residential-led developments from inception to completion
- Manage planning applications through the development process and liaising with local authority officers, key stakeholders and planning consultants
- Undertake feasibility and viability appraisals and due diligence
- Manage delivery phases, contract negotiations, tendering for contractors, budgets and keeping the projects on time
- Project manage consultants, design team and contractors, as well as liaising with stakeholders and land-owner institutions through acquisition process.
Again, while we can share a technical specification for the role – apart from the obvious of needing to have worked on residential schemes within planning, development or delivery roles – in terms of “you” – please contact us if you:
- Enjoy a challenge, with no two-days being the same
- Often get the “bigger picture”, enjoying strategy as well as detail
- Have excellent technical ability, keen to roll your sleeves up and get involved where you may not already have experience
- Have strong negotiation and communication skills
- Have an interest in working within a small and tightknit team – working together to achieve goals.
This is going to be an excellent opportunity to be part of this growing and innovative team at HLL, and therefore likely to be popular – so do not hasten to get in contact as soon as possible.
Please apply here or give me (Kate) a call on 07749 707060 to discuss.
With our exclusive arrangement in place for the longevity of this hiring process, any direct applicants will be directed for consideration by the team at CCO Group. Any speculative CVs sent by recruitment agencies will be deemed as gifts to HLL, and therefore by agreement sent to CCO Group for potential addition to the shortlist.
If you do not hear anything back within one week, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, but I will retain your details for future roles.
