Assistant Strategic Land Manager or Strategic Land Manager – Sussex

CCO are partnered with a leading housebuilder/developer in the Southern region who are looking to expand their successful land team with an ambitious Assistant Strategic Land Manager or Strategic Land Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Group’s portfolio of strategic land led projects to ensure the delivery of the Group’s Strategic Land business plan and provide planning and project management support to Development Team.

What will you be required to do?

  • Assist in identifying and assessing new strategic land opportunities suitable for acquisition under the Business Plan.
  • Assess the technical / legal / planning constraints associated with potential land acquisitions and bids.
  • Provide support and take the lead where necessary in negotiating new strategic land acquisition contracts.
  • Monitor and report to the Head of Strategic Land on projected performance as required.
  • Assist and lead as necessary on the management of projects in Strategic Land team programme and be responsible for managing planning process and land appraisals
  • Establish Key Date programme for the whole life of the project.
  • Manage the consultant team in relation to plan promotion, application, and appeal on strategic sites.
  • Manage the fee budget for legal and planning process on strategic sites.
  • Manage the handover of the schemes to the detailed design Development team as appropriate (Launch meetings)
  • To ensure that the Company is represented professionally at any meetings with external stakeholders, planning authorities, landowners, or potential clients.
  • Ensure that any reports produced internally or by consultants are accurate and clearly present the information required.
  • Ensure that all reports and appraisals are legible and written in clear understandable English appropriate to the target audience.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Have a strong track record of identifying and securing new land opportunities, or experience with land contracts and due diligence
  • Be a self-starter with energy, ambition, drive with a mind set to succeed and deliver
  • Be commercially aware with excellent interpersonal skills
