Control and manage the plant for up to 15 live jobs.
- This includes all plant, owned and hired.
- Managing the transport of our own lorry and our diesel fitter.
- We own about 40 pieces of our own “large kit” (dumpers rollers and excavators.
- There are 25 vans in our fleet.
- An external company looks after the FORS and operating license, but they need to be liaised with to make sure things are current. To be fair this already covered by the girl we have working there, and she manages the servicing and up keep of the vans pretty well.
- There is a number of small tools, lifting equipment and engineering equipment that need to look after also.
- We have recently invested in just short of £1 million of new kit which will be coming online between now and may. New Mercedes vans are on the list to be ordered now also. I would expect the candidate to access any equipment they might view as been necessary to purchase rather than hire. Obviously to go out to the market to not only get the right price but the right service.
- The system we currently use is Inspire which, if needs be, they can be trained on. There is one girl who mainly deals with the vans etc but is also available for admin back up and order processing. The ideal scenario would be to split the types of plant up so that the guys on site know to call her for lifting gear or engineering gear in particular.
- Monthly costs reports are to be generated for the financial controller. This happens automatically on the system but it’s to be checked to make sure all is captured.
- Ultimately the candidate will report to me. They will be responsible for the team of people wo come together to make the plant department work. I’m happy for them to make their own stamp on this position.
- The expected working hours would be 7.30 – 5. PAYE.
